Unfortunately, we are not in a position to provide you with information on the identification of swords and swords.
Even if your sword / sword bears the BALP mark on the blade, we can not assist you in your historical research and identification. BALP has been producing since 1830,but, following the stop of productions during a period, no BALP archive is available.
However, here are some tips to start your search.
Most research on the history of a sword / sword begins with the identification of the manufacturer. Contact an organization of stabbing collectors who may be able to identify your piece, or to look for an antique dealer specialized in swords. Please consider, however, that we have no experience of this type of contact with organizations of collectors of swords or antique dealers, and no idea of the honesty, righteousness or veracity of the information provided by these people. Antique shops are also traders, and you have to be careful with who you work with.
