French Administration Swords

Every administration has its own codes, symbols and traditions. A ceremonial sword or sabre is therefore much more than a uniform accessory: it represents a position, an institution and the history of the corps to which its bearer belongs.

BALP offers models inspired by traditional and regulation-pattern French swords and sabres, with particular attention paid to proportions, ornamentation, emblems and finishes.

Our collection includes:

• Mayor's and elected officials' swords, intended for ceremonies and official functions;
• Police Officer and Police Commissioner swords;
• Traditional CRS swords;
• Firefighter sabres, including models inspired by the 1882 regulation-pattern sabre;
• French Customs swords and swords for other French government administrations;
• Swords for schools and prestigious French corps, including those associated with the traditions of engineers and the French Schools of Mines.

French Craftsmanship Since 1830

BALP is the heir to a French tradition of swordmaking and cutlery craftsmanship dating back to 1830. Our swords and sabres are made with particular attention to the quality of the materials, precision of assembly and respect for the historical characteristics of each model.

Depending on the model, the hilts can feature a variety of finishes and decorative details, while the blades are carefully selected and crafted to produce an elegant, durable ceremonial weapon that remains faithful to its traditional purpose.

Each component – blade, guard, grip, pommel, scabbard and accessories – contributes to the aesthetic balance and distinctive character of every BALP sword and sabre.
